Black & White is a classic color combination. I won't lie, I love to break up the mix of B&W by wearing some sort of a pop of color, but not this time. I have been holding on to this necklace for awhile, and it seemed like a good time to break it out.

Let me explain the magic of necklace extenders. THEY ARE MAGIC. Especially when wearing a collared shirt. You don't want the necklace to by awkwardly under your collar where it can't be seen. Unless it's small enough or you want to understate it, you should put it over the collar. This is where necklace extenders come in.

Necklaces sometimes come to you too short, so you need them anyway. I have a few laying around depending on where I want the necklace to fall on my shirt/dress. This one had to be shown off a little more, and the collar itself hid the extender, so you wouldn't even know unless you saw it while I wasn't wearing it.

Even if you can see an extender, you can get them in all colors and sizes so they match more to the current chain of your necklace, but it's not always necessary. People shouldn't be staring at the clasp when you have a statement necklace on!

So this outfit of the pleated mid-calf high-waisted skirt and the polk-a-dot button up was tied together perfectly with this black, white and gold statement piece.
