Acorn Sweater Statement

There aren't enough ways to say fall is here and there are no words to describe how happy I am about it. But soon you'll learn that I draw the line at 4 inches of snow. After that, I'm ready for Spring again.

Now we're getting to a time when sweater weather is more permanent, the leaves are falling slowly, and layers are necessary.

Checking the weather as I woke up this morning, I knew it would be a bit chilly, but not cold enough for a coat. I typically avoid a coat unless it's literally freezing or there is snow on the ground. And sometimes not even then.

My favorite work day layering comes with a soft sweater over a button down. It's simple, warm, and potentially overdone, but it's all about how you put it together. I started with a simple color pallet; black pants, white shirt. I had purchased this acorn colored sweater a few weeks back at a sale at  Old Navy and thought that today might be the perfect time to break it out. Note that I had to look at the tag to see what color it was classified as, because I couldn't decide.

This rich color paired nicely with the neutrals and gave it a nice pop of color, but not too much. I also decided it was time to bring around one of my favorite necklaces! This bib necklace (that truly can't be described without a picture) is always a big hit when I wear it, and is typically paired perfectly with a collared shirt.

The colors of the necklace really tie in the sweater and add statement to what would have been an understated outfit. I also added my black Banana Republic purse and flats with gold buckle strap to show how I tied together great fall work day attire.
